With PLRBS, you know your vehicle is protected in Portland’s finest storage facility.  Many storage facilities label themselves as "climate-controlled" but really do little more then just protect the sprinkler system of the building, which maintains a minimum temp at the ceiling, not at your vehicle.  We keep our facility at a minimum of 50 degrees Farenheit at the ground level.  But maintaining a proper temperature is only one requisite of vehicle preservation during storage.  One of the most important factors in your vehicles environment is the relative humidity.

Temperature and Humidity are crucial for vehicle preservation during storage.

A note on Humidity:

All air contains moisture.  Relative Humidity (RH) is a ratio comparing the amount of moisture in the air compared to the maximum amount of moisture that the air can possibly hold at a given temperature.  So how does this affect your vehicle?

The rapid cooling of air is often what causes problems.  When air is cooled, it can hold less moisture.  And when the air is cooled enough, it saturates, which is also known as the dew point.  And when vehicles, or anything else get left in this type of environment, the surfaces become wet.  And since the moisture is pulled out of the air, it is pure, and creates the ideal environment to encourage the growth of molds and fungi.  So a high RH is very dangerous to your vehicles integrity, but so is a low RH.

When RH gets below 40%, then leather and wood start to dry out and become brittle and crack.
